Change Log

Below is a running log of changes made to NationalsPride.com since its re-launch on February 17th. See something that needs fixing? Let Ian know at ian@nationalspride.com.

• June 10 - Removed six or seven links from the Natmosphere list, trimming the blogs that haven't been updated in months. Also added William World News and Nationals Post to the list.
• May 27 - Added light rich text editor to the blog comment form field.
• May 26 - Completed the migration of the blogs from WordPress to our proprietary content management system.
• May 22 - The Nationals' hitting and pitching stats were always pulling in the away team's data, not necessarily the Nationals' data. That's fixed now.
• May 20 - Removed the box header images in the left sidebar (like "Division Standings" and "Up Next") and blog boxes (like "Business of Baseball" and "Bleacher Banter") and removed the background image from all such boxes. This was done to reduce page size and improve load time.
• May 20 - Corrected the rendering of the front page line score in Internet Explorer 6 and 7 (why didn't anyone tell me?!)
• May 20 - Corrected the rollover size of the headlines in the lower five front page blog boxes.
• April 28 - Launched the Progress Index.
• April 26 - Moved Jon's and Mark's blogs into the latest-updated blogs module on the home page.
• April 25 - Poll results in the left sidebar are now presented in a static image to improve page load time. It will continue to be animated when you submit your response, but will go static thereafter.
• April 23 - The American League scores now show up in the league scoreboard in the left sidebar.
• April 8 - Added redundant column-header rows to league pitching and league hitting to make them more legible. Modified formula to further increase minimum number of at-bats and innnings-pitched to qualify for league stats page. Added column identifying rank within that stat.
• April 8 - Completed re-branding of Jeff's column from "Fantasy File" to "Stat Boy."
• April 7 - Applied some filtering to roster to hide inactive players. Added notation for players on the DL.
• April 6 - Added hitting and pitching statistics for Columbus, Harrisburg, and Hagerstown. Not sure why Potomac isn't working.
• April 6 - Added National League pitching statistics in the "team" section.
• April 6 - Added National League hitting statistics in the "team" section.
• April 4 - Added Nationals' pitching statistics in the "team" section.
• April 4 - Added Nationals' hitting statistics in the "team" section.
• April 3 - Gave up on the old data source for the team roster. Our roster page now draws on the club's official roster for the last game played. Additional data is now available, and the player tooltips are now functional. As are the individual player pages accessible via the box scores and roster.
• April 3 - Corrected incorrect team records on league scoreboard.
• March 31 - Added an indicator of the winner in the line score area of the box score page.
• March 29 - Corrected bug with the date of the clips being displayed on the mobile edition home page.
• March 28 - Corrected blog post pages and news story pages to better comply with "post to Facebook" functionality. The title and excerpt now post cleanly.
• March 28 - Corrected link to individual blog post in SuperBlog RSS feed.
• March 24 - Fixed the email form on the contact page.
• March 20 - Fixed the team wire index to properly display archive.
• March 16 - Reordered the League Scoreboard to move completed games to the bottom of the page.
• March 16 - Modified the League Scoreboard to denote the winner of each game.
• March 14 - Uploaded a corrected version of the podcast. Something happened during the initial conversion.
• March 13 - MAJOR: Changed the address of the columnists' individual RSS feeds. We are now using custom-built feeds that do finally have the date included in them. The old feeds will continue to function, but do not have the date included by default. All links throughout the site have been updated with the new feed addresses.
• March 12 - Applied the correct links to the RSS feeds on the front page in the boxes for the three bloggers below the podcast button.
• March 7 - Fixed "Archived Clips" page to start today rather than in 2009.
• March 6 - Made changes to accomodate rain-outs in progress in sidebar and line score.
• March 4 - Moved "Bar Guide" and "History's Perspective" buttons above the photo carousel on home page in news view.
• March 2 - The League Scoreboard now refreshes on its own every 60 seconds without reloading the page.
• March 2 - Made more changes to the front page line score module and the box score page to accomodate split-squad games and double-headers. Also, the winner will now be indicated in the line score.
• March 1 - Made further tweaks to league scoreboard and box score to resolve in-game glitches.
• February 27 - Debuted in-game line score on home page. Trouble-shot that quite a bit. Also trouble-shot the box score. Still have to work on the play-by-play.
• February 27 - Trouble-shot code in League Scoreboard. Fixed the display of inning-by-inning scoring columns. Added text link to refresh the scoreboard without refreshing the whole page -- much faster.
• February 26 - Trouble-shot code in the League Scoreboard to better accomodate games in progress.
• February 24 - Added 2007 schedule/results to "Schedule" navigation tab. From there you can view the box score, league scoreboard, and press coverage from every game.
• February 24 - Divided "hitters" section of Roster by position.
• February 24 - Added a page of line scores from around the league as the "League Scoreboard" page. The full League Scoreboard has been linked-to from the box score page, "Team" and "Schedule" navigation tabs, and the short-form league scoreboard in the left sidebar on every page.
• February 23 - Corrected blog Digg links; added social bookmarking to blog archives and blog post pages.
• February 23 - Added flyout story menu to "Original Stories" link under "News" navigation tab.
• February 23 - Added search-engine friendly story slugs to hyperlinks to news and teamwire stories.
• February 23 - Modified font formatting of news stories, teamwire stories.
• February 23 - Added the Nationals' promotional schedule to the "Schedule" navigation tab.
• February 22 - Created a "Change Log" page.
• February 22 - Modified the front page news clips so that only blog posts from the last 24 hours appear, rather than from today or yesterday.
• February 22 - Added links to the NationalsPride CafePress store in the page footer and under the "About" tab of the navigation bar.
• February 21 - Inserted the author name and blog name for each post in the "SuperBlog" on the main page in the "Columnists" section.
