This week will feature the second of three 2009 visits by the Harrisburg Senators, the Nationals' double-A affiliate, to Prince George's Stadium in Bowie where they will play a three-game set against the Baltimore-affiliated Bowie Baysox.

Tonight's pitching matchup might be the most interesting of the three, featuring rehabilitating Nats left-hander Matt Chico for the Senators against recently promoted Brian Matusz of the Baysox.  Chico, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, will be making his third rehab start, while he and the Senators will be looking to solve Matusz, who in 18 1/3 innings at Bowie has struck out 21, walked just 6, and scattered but 10 hits, and is sporting a 0.49 ERA.

Scheduled start times are 7:05 tonight (Tuesday) and Wednesday, and 12:05 on Thursday afternoon.

UPDATED 7/8/09 4:30 pm: Not such a good outing for Chico; 4 1/3 innings, 8 hits, 4 runs (all earned), only 2 walks but also only 1 strikeout.

Matusz? 8 IP, 1 hit, 11 strikeouts, 0.34 ERA. They're probably getting his locker ready at Camden Yards as we speak.

Upon moving to the DC area in 1984, he duly began rooting for the Orioles but found it was never quite the same. Especially after the 1994 strike and the Angelos teardown.

Mike's inner fanboy came back to life the minute the Nats hit RFK in 2005. He shares his random observations with the discerning readers of Nationals Pride and eagerly awaits the day when he'll be complaining about having to pay entirely too much for playoff tickets at Nats Park.
