The Washington Nationals' and their fans have known for awhile they have a gem of a player at third base with Ryan Zimmerman. Most people who follow the Nationals knew it was just a matter of time before the talented third baseman would be recognized as one of the best player at his position. It looks like the time is now.

As most of you know this past Monday the 25 year-old Zimmerman won the first ever ESPN Web Gem Champion award. Next week I believe it will only get better for Zimmerman as I think he will be rewarded for his spectacular plays at third base with the 2009 Rawlings National League Gold Glove.
